Derbyshire Times and Enterprising Women Awards

Last week Clare was invited to TWO awards ceremonies after being shortlisted for the Derbyshire Times Young Business Person of the Year award and the Breakthrough Business Award at the Enterprising Women Excellence Awards. Clare was chosen as a finalist in the Breakthrough business award, down to the last 3 from 11 applicants! At the Derbyshire Times Awards Clare received Highly Commended in the Young Business Person of the Year Award. What an exciting week and two great results!

Derbyshire Times Young Business Person of the Year

Clare has been shortlisted for the Derbyshire Times Young Business Person of the Year Award. She was asked to make a short presentation to a panel of judges and now has to wait to see how she’s done! The winner will be announced at the awards evening on Nov 18th. Fingers crossed!

Craft & Design Selected Silver Award Winner

20th August Clare has won the title Craft & Design Selected Silver Award 2009: Ceramics All of the Award Winners are being announced in the September/October issue of the magazine and on the website. There will be further coverage of the awards in the January/February issue. Many thanks to all of you that voted. Holmfirth Arts Market

7th June Double Award Winning Stand! Clare took her award winning stand to the Holmfirth Arts Market on 7th June and it won it’s second award! Clare was awarded the Best Presented Stall Award at the event. She received £100 to spend at the arts market and she bought a fantastic submarine from Nicola Cheers and beautiful earrings from Fiona Mackay. Country Living Fair Editors Choice Award Winner

Clare Gage wins the Country Living Fair Editors Choice Award! It’s been a fantastic week at the Country Living Sprong Fair it was wonderful to find out that the editors of the magazine chose Clare’s stand as their favourite at the show. Trevor Campbell Award

Clare has been selected as one of only 11 candidates for the 2007 Trevor Campbell Award as part of the Flying Start programme. This award is given to the graduate enterprise that has demonstarted outstanding entrepreneurial skill and development in the six months since the Flying Start programme began.

Derbyshire Community Award

Clare has been awarded an Excellence in the Community Award by the Derbyshire County Council. The award was given in recognition of her achievement in becoming a Fellow of the Royal Society of Art after receiving the 2007 Ceramic Futures award. Her early love of ceramics was nurtured by family pottery classes at the Hunloke Centre in Chesterfield. Without the encouragement and enthusiasm  of the teacher who continues to run the family pottery classes Clare might not have begun the journey to designer success. Stoke Ceramic Festival

Clare has been shortlisted for the Ceramic Festival’s Design Award. The Ceramic Festival will be held in Stoke-On-Trent from 5th to 7th October and her work will be in an exhibition at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery throughout Stoke Ceramic festival.
