Clare has been selected as one of only 11 candidates for the 2007 Trevor Campbell Award as part of the Flying Start programme. This award is given to the graduate enterprise that has demonstarted outstanding entrepreneurial skill and development in the six months since the Flying Start programme began.

Clare’s first time in a national newspaper! Clare Gage featured in Daily Mail column this week. Clare has been mentioned by Roy Hattersley in his column. Discussing the Derbyshire Excellence in the Community Awards he explains how Clare, the youngest award winner ‘was there to demonstrate that attending a family pottery class can lead to a Royal Society of Arts national ceramic design award.’

Derbyshire Community Award

Clare has been awarded an Excellence in the Community Award by the Derbyshire County Council. The award was given in recognition of her achievement in becoming a Fellow of the Royal Society of Art after receiving the 2007 Ceramic Futures award. Her early love of ceramics was nurtured by family pottery classes at the Hunloke Centre in Chesterfield. Without the encouragement and enthusiasm  of the teacher who continues to run the family pottery classes Clare might not have begun the journey to designer success. Clare has been shortlisted for the Ceramic Festival’s Design Award. The Ceramic Festival will be held in Stoke-On-Trent from 5th to 7th October and her work will be in an exhibition at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery throughout Stoke Ceramic festival. RSA Flying Start Programme

25th June 2007 Clare has been accepted on the RSA sponsored Flying Start Programme. The RSA Flying Start programme is an intensive three-day residential course specifically for graduates from recent UK design and related creative-industry degree courses. The programme is designed to provide participants with knowledge of the fundamentals of business venture planning and business start-up.
